• Continuing education students meeting all requirements

The High Lakes Car Club is offering scholarships for 2023 graduates or previous awardees who are seriously pursuing a career in the Automotive or Mechanical trades.

This Scholarship was created in memory of Roger Broggie, who was president of the High Lakes Car Club at the time he passed away in 2012. It is now dedicated to all the Car Club members we have lost over the years, some since the time this fund originated, including our 2015 President, Tom Warren.

Since Roger worked at Disney Studios in California as Machinist and Mechanical Designer for most of his career, and since the interests of the Car Club members run toward automotive, mechanical and engineering endeavors, we would like to award a scholarship to a student who is interested in some area of this field.

Our scholarships are not limited to a student pursuing a four-year college degree, although we welcome applications from those students, we also welcome applications from students who are looking toward a Trade School, a two-year certificate an apprenticeship, or a previous awardee, if his or her interest is in this field. Attitude, aptitude, work ethic, and stability are more important than grade point averages, especially if the student has shown a marked improvement in grades, attendance, and studies.

Applications are available to students attending La Pine, Gilchrist, and North Lake High
Schools. Completed applications, with reference letters, must be submitted by to your
Counselor, who will forward to the Scholarship Committee by May 19, 2023. The committee will
review all applications and select the recipients. Continuing education students forward
applications to High Lakes Car Club by May 19, 2023
